¶ em-smart MOPA System Configuration Backup
To ensure stable operation and prevent potential data loss, it is essential to regularly back up your device configuration settings. Proper backup procedures allow you to quickly restore parameters in case of accidental changes, system resets, software updates, or calibration adjustments.
This guide outlines the recommended steps for saving, exporting, importing, and verifying configuration files in LightBurn, as well as important precautions to maintain long-term parameter stability and traceability.
¶ Operating Steps
¶ 1.Screenshot and Save Configuration Settings
Launch LightBurn, navigate to the menu bar and select Laser Tools → Device Settings. Within the window, click the Galvo tab (or Galvo and Basic Settings) to access the equipment configuration page. Take a screenshot of this page and save it for your records.
Select Galvo and Basic Settings and take a screenshot to save the current configuration. IMPORTANT: Please label the screenshot with the current date and the machine status (e.g., “Post-Calibration” or “Original Factory Settings”) for future reference.

¶ 2. Export Configuration File
Launch LightBurn, navigate to the menu bar and select File → Export. Save the file to your desktop or a USB drive. Please ensure the backup file is labeled with the date and machine status. For example: em-smart-Dual-SE-20260210-Configuration-Backup.
¶ Import Configuration File
Launch LightBurn, navigate to the menu bar and select File → Import, then choose your saved file to restore all parameters instantly.
After importing, you must verify that the settings match the values in the Galvo and Basic Settings section of the Device Settings exactly.
¶ Back Up Files from USB Drive
Insert the USB drive into your computer. Right-click the configuration folder or files within the USB drive, select Copy, and then Paste them onto your desktop to create a secure local backup.
¶ Backup Verification
Locate your saved backup files and verify that the file size is normal (not 0 KB). For enhanced security, it is highly recommended to copy these files to a USB drive or cloud storage as a secondary backup.
¶ Key Precautions
It is highly recommended to perform an immediate backup whenever you modify the engraving parameters for a specific object to ensure seamless future use. Additionally, always remember to label your backup files with both the backup date and the marking material for easy traceability.
