This guide provides a systematic troubleshooting procedure to identify mechanical deformation, obstruction, spring tension issues, or magnetic force insufficiency, along with step-by-step corrective actions to restore proper protective cover closure and ensure reliable operation.
The protective cover cannot reach the lower limit position, leaving a visible gap between the cover and the base plate.
After the protective cover is closed, it can be easily pushed or wobbled, and even a slight external force causes the gap to appear again.
- Deformation of the protective cover
- Obstruction at the closure point of the protective cover
- Loss of spring tension in the protective cover spring (Spring version has been updated).
- Insufficient magnetic force of the base plate magnets (Magnet version has been updated).
- Check whether the protective cover shows any dents or deformation.
- Visually inspect the protective cover closing area and the gap along the base plate, and remove any foreign objects such as metal chips or screws.
- Manually lift the protective cover to a mid position and release it. Observe whether it returns smoothly to the lower limit position. If the return is jerky or it cannot reach the lower limit, this indicates insufficient spring tension or spring force degradation.
- As the protective cover (pulled down to the lower limit position) approaches the base plate, assess the magnetic pull. If there is no noticeable attraction during contact, or if a gap reappears with a light push after closure, this indicates insufficient magnetic force of the base plate magnets.

The following steps 1–12 are relatively straightforward and require minimal operational skill. It is recommended to verify and inspect them sequentially in the order listed.

- Use a flashlight to check the gap areas of the protective cover for any metal chips or foreign objects.

- If no issues are found in the above two steps, contact customer service for the disassembly guide and follow the instructions to proceed with the disassembly.
- After disassembling, check the spring’s tension and test the magnetic pull of the magnets to ensure proper function.
- Stop the equipment and disconnect the main power supply.

- Use the suction cup to prepare for disassembling the column top cover.

- Using the hex key, gently unscrew all the screws on the column top cover one by one.

- Continue using the hex key to remove the handle and handle extension rod.

- Use the hex key to remove the three retaining screws on the base plate.

- Gently unscrew the hex nut on the rear cover using your fingers. Hold the rear cover with both hands, gently rock it up and down, and disconnect the emergency stop switch and button wiring from the rear cover.

- At this point, you can test the spring tension and the magnetic pull of the magnets. (The spring and magnets in the image below are the old versions.)

- Protective cover deformation: Re-align and straighten the deformed protective cover frame; replace it if deformation is severe.
- Foreign-object obstruction: Use a brush or compressed air to remove debris from the contact surfaces, guide rail, and gaps. Wipe clean and then retry closing.
- Insufficient spring tension: Replace with a new spring of the same specification, ensuring proper installation and smooth extension/retraction.
- Insufficient magnetic force: Replace the base plate magnets, or clean the magnetic contact surfaces to remove rust or dust buildup.
- Press the manual up/down control multiple times to confirm the protective cover moves smoothly.
- Confirm the protective cover reaches the lower limit position and that its up/down motion is normal, with no sticking or abnormal noise.
